This isn’t as uncommon as people think. I found several cases in the last five years with a quick search. Heck, a Dakar rider got struck two years ago apparently.
Car s get hit pretty frequently but the results are often completely inconsequential to the driver.
I wouldn't ride my bike, let alone a motorcycle, while there's a thunderstorm going on.

i had a friend over for burgers Saturday night. just as we sat to eat a friend of his sent him a video he took of a bike accident. there were two people on the bike and the bodies were in three different locations.....
